Scholastics:

Kara graduated from Oregon State University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in General Science with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy, and a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She received multiple academic scholarships and was the Waldo-Cummings Outstanding Student Award Recipient in 2003 and 2004. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Credentials:

Kara continues to expand her education through The McKenzie Institute; The Herman&Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and The Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) for chronic pain. She is working on her certification in MDT as well as pelvic rehabilitation. She is a member of both the Oregon Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Experience:

Kara was born and raised in Portland, OR and has spent the last 8 ½ years practicing physical therapy in the Pacific Northwest. She specializes in Chronic pain, Pelvic Health, Women’s Health, Geriatrics, and Orthopedic Rehabilitation. 

Achievements:

During her time in graduate school she served as the Class President of 2008; as a student representative on the Admissions Committee to the School of Physical Therapy; and as a student representative on the committee of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) creation of PTCAS (Physical Therapy Centralized Application System). Kara was one of two students in her graduating class to receive the Director’s Award for commitment to Pacific University’s Mission and Values. Since graduating, Kara has been a guest lecturer for multiple groups regarding pelvic health and the role of physical therapy including at the state convention for Delta Kappa Gamma Oregon Chapters.

Hobbies:

Her passions include cooking, hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, and spending time with her family and dog, Jaz.
